BOARD OF SELECTMEN
July 7, 2012
The meeting was called to order at 10:00 AM in the Annex. Present were Chairman Edith Morgan, Selectman Neil Sulmasy and Town Administrator John Lebeaux. Selectman Stan Moss was absent.
New Business
Personnel Matters
John reported that as a result of communications recently received and distributed to the Board, he found it necessary to request that the Board place Fire Chief/Emergency Management Director David F. Cobb on Paid Administrative Leave pending an investigation. John also requested that the Board appoint John Bennett as Acting Chief for the same duration.
Neil moved that effective immediately the Board of Selectmen place Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director David F. Cobb on administrative leave with pay during the pendency of an investigation. He further moved to appoint John Bennett as Acting Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director for the same time period.
Edie seconded. The Board approved by unanimous vote (2-0).
John announced that in order to respect both Chief Cobb’s rights and the investigatory process that the Town would have no further comment at this time.
